PERSONAL CONNECTION

I made this film, a poem of sorts, in response to the murder of George Floyd and so many others. Due to COVID-19 I had no film crew, so while I have always produced and directed all of my films, this time I also became the cinematographer. The film was shot over 3 early mornings, and is dedicated to all mothers/parents out there.

IMG-1869.JPG

French Impressionist artist Edgar Degas claims that ‘art is not what you see, but what you make others see,’ Gabri Christa’s film Son takes that notion one step further by making us feel as well as see…. She lets us into the unconnected connectedness that distance or death can’t break. She offers with this film an invitation, permission to enter the relationship. Accept the invitation.
